Moonlighting with the Seven Twenty!

Stewart Scissor's been moonlighting again with our chums The Seven Twenty! Their album's due out in a few days (launch gig at Cambridge's Portland Arms on 6 December), released on Castles in Space records. In the meantime, you can hear the band live in the studio tonight on Dave Hammond's Smelly Flowerpot show on Cambridge 105!

Bouquet of Dead Crows album launch a triumphant night!

Big thanks to everyone who made Friday night such a great time! We supported Bouquet of Dead Crows for their album launch, alongside Gavin Chappell-Bates and Cherry White.
Cambridge Music Reviews were there to review the whole evening, and had these nice words to say about our set:

'An exuberant performance from Cambridge stalwarts The Scissors impressed the growing audience, their sharp pop songs a riot of colourful Hammond organ flavoured keyboards, edgy guitar, crescendos of drums and punching bass, with some interesting lyrical twists. Hopefully a new CD is due soon, to include the dark blues of ‘Why Don’t You Cry?’ currently one of the standout songs in their live set.'

Read the full review for more about the whole evening! We had a fantastic time playing to a great crowd alongside awesome acts. What more can one ask for?

Bouquet of (Un)Dead Crows video features a certain Scissor...

It's great to see our chums Bouquet of Dead Crows going places with their new single released on German Shepherd Records! Here's a nice article about it.
And here's the fab video for it (watch out for a familiar-looking zombie...)!

Gigging for Facepalm!

For the next gig in our calendar we're proud to be back at our local Cambridge haunt The Cornerhouse, with our chums Bouquet of Dead Crows, and the fantastic Finding ANA.
Poster design by our very own Stewart Scissor. Now we know what Cthulhu listens to.

Haunted Mirror

Work's continuing on our new album 'The Scissors is the Haunted Mirror' (we're taking The Scissors to be the definite article, hence 'is' and not 'are', grammar pedants out there. Plus we just like the sound of it), and it won't be too much longer, we promise! In the meantime, here's the cover art, to whet your appetites.
Delays mainly caused by the fact we're mixing the album by seance sessions conducted at eight minutes past midnight only on strange nights with a full moon. Finished mixes are then transmitted to master tape via magick lantern show. It's all in a good cause, you understand...
